Advocacy
Both the Information Ethics and the Information Policy SIGs are strong advocates for graduate students and seek to promote their education and learning both in and outside of the classroom. We seek to attract student involvement at every level. If you are an interested Master’s or Doctoral student, please reach out to our leadership to inquire about ways that you can be involved. Professional organization service work is instrumental in learning about the field of Library and Information Science and can be fundamental to networking.
ALISE Annual
The annual business meetings of both SIGs are held at ALISE Annual. In addition to the panels and business meetings, the annual conference provides an excellent, welcome opportunity to collaborate with other SIGs and potential research partners. The SIGs often put together panels related to current themes and scholarship aligned with each SIG’s respective interests.
Webinars
ALISE hosts occasional webinars. Moving forward, it is the goal of the SIGs to plan and create webinars in order to provide resources about the nexus of information ethics and policy. Those webinars will be promoted here and also on ALISE’s webinar page, linked below.
